Have all Southerners forgotten they lost the Civil War, or just the Alabamans?

I seem to have read somewhere that the South lost the Civil War, and the Supremacy Clause holds that any state law which tries to overturn Federal Law is unconstitutional. The new Alabama immigration law comes to mind as a complete waste of time and resources.
