Tricks 2 burping a stubborn baby?

I have a 3 week old baby girl and I haves tried EVERYTHING 2 try and burp her and nothing seems 2 be working!! She burps once in a while and I was told that it was normal since I breastfeed her, but once I lay her down after not burping her sooner or later she throws up! I've tried over the shoulder, over my lap on her tummy, sitting her up and patting her back while supporting her head, bringing her knees 2 her chest, lifting her arms and nothing. Sometimes when I alternate these methods she does eventually burp but most of the time she does not and she starts getting pretty fussy the longer I try burping. Married friend not acting married?

With your daughter, especially, she needs to learn how a family functions. She has lived in an orphanage for two years, has had multiple caretakers and has learned to be charming to get what she wants from whatever adult is in front of her. It's how she's survived. She now needs to learn that you and your husband are the special people called Mom and Dad dedicated to taking care of her. It will take awhile. Don't let other people feed, comfort, bathe, or provide for any of her other major needs except for you and your husband. Your son may actually be having more difficult behavior right now, but I'm actually betting he comes around before your daughter. He's showing preference for a single caretaker, and that actually IS a good sign. He needs that right now, and when he starts to become more secure that his needs are being taken care of, he'll start to slowly but surely let you in. My daughter did not behave this severely for this long, but she preferred Daddy at first. It is hard. When he goes to Daddy to have a need met, Daddy needs to VERBALLY say, while handing him to you, "Mommy is good at feeding you. She will take care of you." Daddy should certainly also keep meeting his needs a lot of the time now, too, but it will help your son to see that his trusted Daddy trusts you and help your son to gain trust in you. With both kids, be affectionate, never raise your voice, show them that you will be there whatever they throw at you. Hang in there. Take care of yourself emotionally and physically. If these problems persist, or at least don't start improving with what you're doing on your own, within a few months, seek professional help.

House seller holds my down payment, stalls and denies closing(NY,USA)!?!?

I am trying to buy a house in Brooklyn, NY, 11236. We signed a contract in January and STILL we haven't closed. The seller keeps on pressing for time, stalling and stalling. The seller has debts totaling around $260,000 as found by the title examination. Can he really do this? Can he withhold my down payment, without allowing us to agree a closing date? The contract states that closing will take place on or about 60 days from signing which was January(it's clearer been longer than that). Do I have a case in saying that I want my down payment back right away? I want to buy a house but this seller it holding my down payment as hostage! The contract states and I quote "If a Purchaser defaults hereunder, Seller's sole remedy shall be to receive and retain the Downpayment as liquidated damages." (Also what does "purchaser default" and "seller default" truly mean? I find there being no wrong done on my part in asking for my money back after I have professionally fulfilled by end of the contract in sustaining enough money to close, conducting the title examination, etc. I simply want my down payment back. I find that the seller has done a wrong in delaying the closing to an absolutely unknown time, only fitting for them, not us(my party including my attorney). There has been no attempt to give us a closing date, despite numerous attempts on our part. )

Cat runs laps in house! Help!?

What Could I have Done Differently?

My Guinea Pig sow died Saturday from childbirth. I'm not sure exactly how old she was, but my guess is 7 months or so. She had two still born pups on Friday night at 9:30 pm- they were obviously under-developed because they had no hair, fused eyelids and ear buds that were not fully formed. After she had them, I removed them from the cage to let her rest...but I saw no blood, placenta or cords of any kind. The next day she was lethargic and obviously in pain. I noticed some bloody discharge in her cage. I wrapped her in a towel and put a hot compress on her to try to induce the discharge of the placenta and rubbed her belly gently. She seemed septic already and was shivering, and I though of giving her infants tylenol susp.-but I didn't want to give her anything that could damage her liver. My only thought was if the placenta didn't come out, or another pup was in there...she would die of sepsis. So, I put gentle pressure on her belly right above her vagina and held onto the cord coming out of her, but didn't tug or pull...yet she died on my lap after about a minute of trying at around 4pm, less than 24 hours after giving birth. I find it hard to believe she was that septic already. Was it me pulling the cord? Maybe the babies were dead for awhile and she was septic from that to begin with? I have no experience with this and her widow will remain alone because I DO NOT want to deal with this again. Does anyone have any input? Is this common?

I think the way Qualifying in F1 is run could be improved. Have any of you seen top gear? They run the Power Laps with the car starting from a standstill, and running one glory lap. I think that F1 Qualifying should be run like this. It would eliminate the problem of running into traffic on the circuit, and it wouldn't ruin the tires. Punishments for 6 year old?

My step son is 6, going on 7. His mom and stepdad have told me things they do that work at home to punish him (we have him during the week right now whereas usually he's just with us on the weekends.) I take care of him and his older sister while their dad is at work during the day and even though I've been caring for him since before he was 2, it's like he's suddenly forgotten how to listen to me. I've tried EVERYTHING with him. I've tried time-outs with nose in the corner to sitting on the couch and not being able to play to even letting his sister take care of it when he hurts her. Nothing is working and I'm out of ideas. As a step-mom I don't feel comfortable spanking and while I may do it when my own child is old enough and misbehaving like he is, I honestly don't think it would even work with my stepson. Cat runs laps in house! Help!?

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I myself am an addict. I took so long to tell my parents about it. I'm not sure if you can take your son into detox at a hospital that has a rehab connected to it or not but it'll take time. Like the person above said, when a family member is sick in their addiction, the whole family becomes sick. It might get to the point where you have to wait until he realizes his life is becoming very unmanageable. As for you, you could help yourself out by going to a substance abuse councilor. I have a sister that is like that. Long story short we haven't spoken to or seen each other in almost 2 years. Yes I miss having her in my life but at the same time I can't trust her. She knows that she can come back into my life when ever she wants to but I have to be able to trust her before I can allow her back in. Some time people don't see what they are doing hurts people and unfortunately it takes a lot for them to step back and see it. As far as the money she owes you goes try to forget about. You probably will never see it again. One thing I've learned is don't ever give any one any money unless you can afford to never see it again that way you wont get mad over money so much. Part of the problem is you have to tell her no I'm not giving you any more money. That's what happened to my sister and me. Yes we don't talk to each other any more but she isn't taking advantage of me and using me as a doormat any more. Just tell her you can't keep giving her money and leave it at that. What happens from that point on is on her not you. That's what I had to do.

Why are my guinea pigs so shy when they are out of their cage?

Okay last night I went to my best friends bday party. We were watching movies all night and her brother came downstairs and started watching the movies with us. Now I just bought a 2011 bowtech assassin and it has the hostage rest on it. I am finding out real fast by working with our problem. They do all kinds of things to harm them and I'm sure poor little Otis went through some of those things at the hand of a human being. It's going to take time. I have had strays that took as much as a year to warm up but you just have to let them go. That should attest to the fact that cats have feelings and make you love him all the more. As far as your new kitty goes I think you should put her with Otis. Okay, so i just went on a cruise trip for a week and i met this boy. He is really sweet, slightly geeky, funny, and literally the guy version of me. We are the exact same.
