How did the west manage to push out the moors and eventually gain supremacy over the Arab world?

There is a lot of history between the years when Spain was regained and today. The major change was in the West, where the founding of the New World and the Industrial Revolution combined to raise the technology of Europe far above that of the rest of the world, including the Arab world. Simply put, they were left far behind, and are still trying to catch up.
