Why are Arabs stereotyped as brown skinned in modern times well in fact they were seen as white in the past?

Arabs comes in different colors & shades sweetie, look at me for instant i am pure Arab (Jordanian) and i ain't no brown lol but sadly most of the modern world still stereo type us the way they desire even if it was wrong
